Singapore - Punggol Nasi Lemak

punggol nasi lemak! the coconut rice with condiments that everyone has been raving about!

Spotted: celebrites Daniel Ong and Jaime Teo heading to join the queue at the stall. and we know that celebrities wouldn't be caught dead in a place that serves yucky food, so this stall definitely sells quality food! All the ingredients are freshly cooked on the spot, and queues are often snake all the way out of the centre, taking an average time of 30mins for a customer to order the food. Although the prices are slightly expensive, but no one minds waiting and paying for good food!

this is a typical order. the chicken wings are usually a must buy on everyone's list cos its crispy on the outside but soft and juicy on the inside. and its always freshly made in batches so the crispyness is always kept fresh! the rice goes well on its own, but you can choose to have the curry gravy on it too. this plate will cost about $4.

but even a plate with simple dishes is delicious enough, and costs about $3, thanks to the fragrant rice and the sambal chili which is handmade by the stallowner's mother (note: the chili at the katong outlet tastes different and doesn't have as much oomph as the one at the kovan stall)

always an empty plate with not a single rice grain left!
