Singapore - Yuan Chun Famous Lor Mee 源春驰名卤面

this lor mee stall on the second floor of amoy street food centre has a perpetual long queue, especially during lunch hour. want to know the reason? its because the food is cheap, priced from $2 per bowl which is filling for someone with a normal appetite (but missfattyfoodie can eat 2 bowls without any dificulty), and the service is pretty fast as well. i like to think of it as $2 portion to cater to the ladies and the $3 portion for the guys, but that is just a generalisation! it is also well cooked with generous servings of prawn and fish crackers, fish meat and gravy.

remember to add enough vinegar to your noodles as well, to bring out the best taste in the gravy! we didn't add enough, or rather the stall owner didn't give enough and we were too lazy to walk back to the stall so we just made do with what was given. pretty good still but could have done with more vinegar, so remember to ask for more!

opening hours are from 8:30am-4pm everyday, but the store is closed on mondays and tuesdays. turn off bit is that the hawker centre has poor ventilation and hardly any fans, so be prepared to sweat a bucket while savouring the noodles. the tissue packet which u have to bring in order to chope a seat during lunch time will definitely be very useful. the queue was building up towards lunch hour. it is definitely a good thing to go before or after the 12-1:30pm slot.
