MissFattyFoodie - John West Tuna & Beans

Nuffnang was giving away John West Tuna to whoever who wants to take up the challenge of making a simple and healthy recipe out of it (extra points if you just use the 'spork', spork = spoon fork i think they are just trying to be 'smartny').

I love john west's tuna and my favourite is their light sweet chilli tuna :)

I was really excited and surprised when I received the package from Nuffnang. Couldn't wait to try the new Tuna & Beans flavour.

John West Tuna with Capsicum, Sweet Corn, Red Kidney Beans & Chilli.
With so many extra ingredients, it will make a substantial meal by itself.

goodness in a can

You don't even have to use your own utensils as a 'spork' is included. No need to wash up after eating and you don't have to bring it to a park and eat it with your fingers. The tuna & beans taste good by itself too.

I've decided to use the free tuna (thank you nuffnang!) to make (recipe 1) :

Tuna in a Tortilla Cup

Cooking time - less than 10 minutes

What you need -
2 plain flour tortilla
salad mix
salad dressing or just olive oil (optional)
John West Tuna & Beans

2 oven-proof bowls
hands (preferably clean)
extra points?!?!

I put the plain tortilla and press it into an overproof bowl

I tore it into halves and place them in, as the tortilla was a bit too big.
place it in a pre-heated oven (180 degrees) for about 5 minutes.

While the tortilla turns into a crispy cup, mix the salad with the salad dressing that you like.

Take out your baked and crispy tortilla cups from the oven, put the salad in, then put the tuna on top. Isn't it simple?

may i present to you....

Tuna in a Tortilla Cup!

contains most of the good stuff listed here
Eat up Tuna and the Tortilla cup with a spork and there will be no dishes to wash for the day!

Recipe 2:

Tuna on a Rye

Cooking Time:
2 minutes

What you need:
Margarine or Light Cream Cheese
John West Tuna & Beans
Crisp Bread
Tomato and Lettuce

A pair of clean and gentle hands
The one and only Spork

A layer of light cream cheese, a layer of Tuna & Beans then top it off with a slice of tomato and some lettuce. It is not even easy to make, it is also healthy and delicious!

This makes a very healthy lunch or snack
