Singapore - Dessert story at Heeren

Hunting for a chinese dessert stall in orchard road is quite a feat. Came across Dessert Story at the basement of Heeren only because Shokudo was there. Decided to try the desserts there because cakes and icecream seemed too filling.

The interior of the dessert stall. Quite modern looking for a stall selling traditional desserts such as mango sago pomelo, black sesame paste, glutinous balls etc. They sell dim sum such as har gao, chee cheong fun etc too as well.

Decor of the interior with photos of the desserts/dim sum they sell.
The menu does look pretty enticing doesn't it?

Almond cream. Which was thick, rich and creamy with much almond flavor in it. $2.50

Yam paste with gingko nuts and pumpkin pieces. This tasted really good, especially for a non-teochew stall, as ever since I had this for dessert at my grandfather's birthday dinner at a Teochew restaurant (which was how I got hooked onto this dessert), I have never been able to find a dessert place which sold good yam paste. Add coconut milk for better flavor.

See how thick and chunky the paste is? If it is watery and of a light shade of purple (artificial coloring), do not bother ordering it.

Wiped the entire bowl clean. Although it cost $3.20 for a tiny portion, I'd definitely return for more.
